Follow the Queenstown Wine Trail through some of Queenstown’s best wine country for a great relaxing activity. Take a guided tour or make your own way. Queenstown vineyards benefit from perfect wine growing conditions and specialties include Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. In the wider Central Otago region there are 75 wineries, serving 177 vineyards. One of Queenstown’s well known vineyards, and Queenstown’s first commercial vineyard is Gibbston Valley Wines. The vineyard features a wine cave and tour, wine tasting, cafe and gift shop. You can also choose to combine your Queenstown winery or vineyard experience with a spa treatment, for the ultimate in indulgence!
Shopping
Queenstown boasts world-class shopping, with a small-town, village feel. Explore the boutique fashion stores, kit yourself out in the latest adventure or ski wear or purchase a New Zealand memento at one of the many great tourist shops. You’ll just love making your way around the cobbled streets, with the snow-capped mountains as a backdrop. Venture to Arrowtown, with a quaint main street of boutique and speciality stores, perfect for picking up some handmade jewellery or New Zealand-made clothing.

Scenic Flights
Queenstown and the Southern Lakes area is one of the most stunning areas in the world to take a scenic plane, helicopter or hot air balloon flight. Take a helicopter flight around Lake Wakatipu and land on the pinnacles of the Remarkables’ mountain range, which towers over Queenstown or soar over Coronet Peak, Queenstown’s main skiing area. Be wowed by the stunning white landscape and snowy mountains in winter, or the golden hills and sapphire-blue lakes in the summer months. You could also take a scenic plane flight further south to Milford Sound. Milford Sound has been described as one of the worlds most scenic and beautiful destinations and a flight over this area will leave you captivated. Hot air balloon flights depart at sunrise, drifting effortlessly across the beautiful landscape between Queenstown and Arrowtown.
